Jessica Emery – Attorney and Mediator

J.D., Master of Laws

Jessica focuses her practice on estate planning and family law, including custody matters, divorce, and mediation in St. Louis County, Missouri. She is passionate about helping her clients through difficult life transitions. With a background in both litigation and alternative dispute resolution, she is prepared to help her clients reach their goals through the best method possible for their circumstances. Clients describe Jessica as down-to-earth and caring yet professional and efficient.

Jessica holds both a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Washington University School of Law. In law school, she received several top advocacy awards including winning the championship in Washington University’s intramural moot court competition and being named the “Best Speaker in the Competition” in a highly competitive national moot court competition. She also received a Cali Award in Arbitration, which is awarded to the student with the highest grade in the class. 

While completing her Legal Masters, Jessica interned for a U.S. District Court Judge in the Eastern District of Missouri.  She then worked as a civil litigation associate at a specialty civil litigation firm, before turning her focus to public service work representing indigent domestic violence victims at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri as a staff attorney. She continues to serve as a volunteer lawyer for LSEM. 

Outside of the office, Jessica is busy as a wife and mother of three children, including twins. She also herds two tabby cats and a Saint Bernard mix. 

 

 

Lauren Taylor – J.D.

Summer Associate

Lauren is a recent graduate of St. Louis University Law School, where she received the Law School Dean’s Scholarship. She was a member of the Women’s Law Association and participated in Moot Court and Trial Advocacy programs. She is passionate about pursuing a career in family law.

During law school, Lauren worked as a student intern for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, helping serve the people of St. Louis though her work in family law matters. In addition, she interned at the St. Louis City Circuit Attorney’s office, gaining extensive in-court litigation experience.

In her free time, Lauren is an avid runner and enjoys cooking homemade meals for her family and friends.
